RECENT PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
Suspended Superheroes 2023
Voyageur Technical, with the support of HSC Winnipeg, once again invited our friends to 'Superhero Day' at the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg. Rope and Rescue personnel from 8 organizations came together to create a group of over 80 'superheroes'.
This year raised over $35,000 for the Children's Hospital Foundation.
DIVERSE RESCUE TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONAL ROPE TEAMS
Our groundbreaking custom training event organized and hosted by Voyageur Technical, spanned five diverse facilities, and forced our participants to engage in comprehensive day-and-night, indoor-outdoor scenarios, in high angle and confined space environments. Through this immersive experience, they honed skills, developing innovative improvised rescue and response strategies tailored to address the complexities of challenging local infrastructure. This multifaceted training showcased our commitment to versatile learning environments and empowered participants to craft adaptable solutions for real-world challenges.
ST JAMES BRIDGE REINFORCEMENT PROJECT
In response to an urgent infrastructure maintenance need, we swiftly engineered a bespoke rope access work solution that not only met the tight deadline but vastly exceeded expectations. Our team's efficiency allowed us to accomplish double the scheduled workload daily, ensuring on-time project completion without incurring additional costs or penalties for our valued client. This feat showcased our agility and commitment to delivering exceptional results under demanding circumstances, without compromising worker safety or regulatory compliance.
COLD WEATHER PERFECT FOR WINTER TOWER TRAINING
Amidst the year's chilliest days, we tailored and implemented a bespoke fall protection and tower rescue program for a telecom client, showcasing our expertise in cold environment work techniques. The client's elation reflected our commitment as we ensured their safety in frigid conditions, providing specialized solutions that exceeded expectations while safeguarding their workforce at every height.
WINDOWS WITH A VIEW
In a remarkable feat at the Chateau Lake Louise, our team completed the replacement of all lake-facing windows using rope access, ensuring uninterrupted hotel services just days before Christmas. With precision and expertise, we seamlessly executed this intricate project, allowing guests to revel in the holiday season without any disturbance while enjoying the breathtaking views.
Suspended Superheroes 2022
Voyageur Technical Inc. is proud to have been the driving force behind Suspended Superheroes 2022, the inaugural event of an annual fundraising initiative for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba
With support from the Winnipeg Police Service Tactical Support Team, Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Emergency Response Team, The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba and Heather's Pretty Parties, we were able to realize a vision that started back in the spring of 2022.
NEW LIGHTS ON THE ESPLANADE RIEL
Working with a team of contractors and engineers, Voyageur was asked to assist in the most innovative bridge lighting project in Manitoba. Working around access challenges and the traffic of the ever-open foot bridge, our team was able to safely climb all over the structure during this project. Assisting in the removal, installation and alignment of the lighting upgrade was a fun project for the team and the results for the city are stunning.
AIR CONDITIONING CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH
Our team was recently engaged to assist in getting a commercial building upgrade project back on schedule after an access problem threatened to stall production - all during the heat wave. The task was to access and reinforce the joist supporting certain areas of the roof in order to support the weight of new air conditioning units. Working at night (still 38C in the work space) to avoid any interference with normal day-time business operations, our team of specialists completed all of the work ahead of schedule and under budget.
IT'S DIFFERENT IN THE ROCKS
Voyageur recently ran a weekend Rocks and Rescue seminar, focusing on tree and rock anchors, different access and rescue systems, and the hazards of working near a natural edge. The weekend was a hot one, but the clear cool water at the bottom offered ample opportunity to cool off.
